If the object is a PRONOUN (it, them, him, her), it MUST go in the

of the phrasal verb.

- Correct: "Turn

on." - Wrong: "Turn on

." - Correct: "Pick

up." - Wrong: "Pick up

."

If it's a noun, it can go in either place. - "Turn on the light" OR "Turn the light on." (Both OK).
