33. All vs. Whole

Both imply "100%" of something, but the word order is different.

- All the + Noun. - "I studied all the day." (Correct) - "I studied the all day." (Incorrect)

- The whole + Noun. - "I studied the whole day." (Correct) - "I studied whole the day." (Incorrect)

- "My whole life" (Note: Possessive replaces 'The'). - "All my life". - "All day long" (Fixed phrase).
